Adam Hogan is a security engineer for CrowdStrike. He has worked as a SOC analyst, intrusion detection consultant and taught security classes across the US and UK before joining a sales team for the privilege of not having to go into the same office every day. He currently lives in Columbus, Ohio. His graduate studies were in economics, which makes him an expert in ruining diner parties that turn political.

The Evolution of Adversary Behavior -
How malware and other adversary tactics evolve like parasites and how to maintain an agile enough environment to stay ahead of the curve.

I will discuss the evolution and advancement of the adversary tools and tactics used in cyber attacks. I argue that this evolutionary process maps to biologic theories of evolution and demonstrate how these theories will affect the future of the security industry. By drawing from advancements in chess tactics I will argue how we can keep our security teams agile enough to be effective against this growing threat.
